Sustainability

Dear GBTA Chapters,

Thank you again for your valuable support earlier this year to circulate GBTA’s sustainability survey with your members.

The insights gathered from across our industry enabled us to produce a landmark research study [gbta.org] on "The State of Sustainability in the Global Business Travel Sector”. The 21-page benchmarking report, released at the end of last month, reveals top priorities and opportunities as the business travel industry accelerates its journey toward a more sustainable future.

Some of the key findings include:

  • Almost 9 in 10 (89%) industry respondents collectively say that sustainability is already a priority for their company.
  • 88% of the global business travel sector views addressing climate change as the number one priority area for action.
  • For industry professionals, among the biggest barriers to more sustainable business travel management practices are higher costs (82%) and lack of transparent information and data (63%)
  • The key enablers include fostering change in industry culture (63%) and improved access to sustainability data (63%)

GBTA would be very grateful if you could help disseminate the study with your Chapters members: the full research report can be downloaded here [gbta.org], and more information about our Founding Partners is available at Sustainability (gbta.org)

Thank you very much!
